Hey f.aggots , at least james toney is an exiting fighter ,hes still knocking people out, but couture ? when he won a fight in impressive fashion lately ? NEVER. The guy is too old to do his wrestling and he has no ground and pound whatsoever. Put anyone in front of Toney and he gets anihilated in the striking department.Couture pushes people against the fence until the ref restarts the action or the round is over.That is what he does and nobody says s.hit about that ,when he performed a double leg or single leg takedon lately ? NEVER ,hes boring as hell ,yeah, he trains an all , but to be a good wrestler you need to have some youth , and the guy is old and has no power anymore.
You need to realize that toney can knock out the top guys in the division in a striking fight , but couture cant take down not even one of them. So who deserves to be in the ufc considering this ?

Saying this now.... James Toney won't get knocked out. I'm a mma fan but I'm just saying. Randy won't knock him out and for people saying that are stupid.

ya that is very true but u gotta take in the facts for James Toney. See how HE gets knocked out after ONE punch from Roy Jones. those 4 ounce gloves will be different and Randy will put a hurt on him once its not stand up. Even in the clinch.. gotta think about how he thinks also. His a boxer, his been boxing his whole entire career and just like Pride to UFC, boxing to UFC is like standing to everything u do with your body. his going to keep thinking everything is legal , ground is legal and all that but when your trained as a boxer and its your first MMA fight.... when instincts take over its boxing. He will try to box with randy but randy knows best and will just swoop his legs real quick. Once its that its game over. Just like Vitor Belfort vs Randy, once Vitor was off his feet he just got beat up silly. But Vitor is more experienced Ground guy but Toney is non, or basicly non.

But im really excited for the fight and i honestly dont think james toney is ignorant or anything i like him. i just think he thinks that everyone thinks hes scared of randy couture or everyone else in the HW Division because hes coming from boxing and everyone feels that he should be afraid of all the fighters just because mma is more advanced and dangerous than boxing. Cant wait for the fight August 28th,anyone one know if the fights going to be a co-main event or main card or anything?

I can understand why alotta people dont like james toney for the way he talks but the truth is he can talk all day long if he wants to its just his hype. Anyone whos been in the game long enough (MMA at least) and has experienced wins and losses seems to achieve a respectful and humble attitude towards others. I think that even Toney could learn respect after getting KO'd :)

Wow, I think this is awesome. With recognizable boxers coming to MMA, the more viewers to watch MMA, the better. Although I think baby steps would be to face two pro boxers against each other. Not to eliminate one another from contract re-signing but to see who will train harder to take advantage of the more open rules. I guess you can hate on Toney but I'm impressed that he's stepping up to the challenge instead of just talking. I hope he stays in both MMA and boxing.
Don't worry about Toney being hit by Randy with 4-ounce gloves. He's got the chin for it. Randy has only wobbled a few fighters in the UFC as far as I recall. I'm not worried about Randy being hit but if he did get hit then think about the power Toney generates. He knocks out guys using much bigger gloves and has been hit by boxers that can do the same.

damn everyone hates this guy huh, well ill be the first one to not hate on him on this page. Im actually excited to see this guy fight. His a spectacular stand up fighter, ya we all know Randy will beat him silly but i just wanna see what he can offer to us before he looses. Maybe he will even rock randy and MAKE randy take him to the ground. Who knows whats going to really happen cuhs u know what they say, MMA is where the crazy things happen. And by crazy you guys know what im talking about, all of a sudden knock out, total 360 degree change in the fight from getting beat up to knocking the dude out with 1 hit. You know if he connects on randy with ONE punch, randy is on trouble. But that goes for Tony also since he has never been hit with a 4 ounce glove to the dome. But you gotta admit i give the stand up to Tony since all boxers train for is their hands.
