^ ooo you cant beat that hahaha. Shogun definitely showed the world that he didnt want it to go to the judges again. But if you watch the whole round, Machida won the round pretty much. Take down twice, little ground and pound, and shogun was very aggresive with his punches to the face on this fight then on there fight number 1. But it just shows that maybe it was the strategy that won him the fight. If i was machida, i would practice checking his leg kicks the whole time and im pretty sure thats what machida MAINLY trained for. But shogun instead just started throwing bombs and honestly I think if there is a machida shogun 3 , thats the REAL one. both fighters know what to expect now, Shogun knows how to defeat machida so what else will he bring new to the table? Machida lost by a knock out so he has something to practice for, something to learn from. I would love to see this trilogy continue.

I thought Shogun/Machida was a close call - but I think the judges gave Machida the win because he was holding the belt. That said, I thought Ortiz beat Griffin, winning the first two rounds. I also thought that Vera beat Couture. There were six of us watching that one, and all of us were like 'NO WAY!' when Randy got the win, despite everyone preferring Couture to Vera. I'm not saying that there's foul play, but maybe they need to re-evaluate the way that they score rounds - a fight's a fight, after all.

I have watched the machida shogun might many times, on the fence on who wins. After around the 6th viewing, I realized, without a doubt, Machida won. He defended EVERY takedown attempt by Shogun. Defending a takedown may not be as significant as an actual takedown but its still points. If GSP can win fights by constantly double legging, then Machida can win fights by always keeping it on the feet. OCTAGON CONTROL HE CHOSE WHERE THE FIGHT HAPPENED.

This is old.......... Shogun lost. he ate more punches to the face than throwing the kicks. Machida champ, end of story.
