chacal is a moron...like the name get off Silva's cock. He fought like a panzy. I give him the first two rounds but the last three was ridiculous. If I wanted to watch a man circle another man for 10 minutes I definitely would agree with you on the ROLE OF A CHAMPION, show me another champion that dominates to that extent for two rounds and walks the equivilant of 5 km the next please.....

it wasn't the most satisfying fight, however both had their game plans.. silva executed his strikes and take down defense.. and maia couldnt use his ground game to his full potential because his take down offense was too predictable.. no one knows if anderson could finish maia, but your not the one in the cage fighting.. it was a big event.. and people watch to get entertained fighters fight to make ends.

GSP is actually THE FLOYD MAYWEATHER of MMA. No doubt that he's the Champ but watching his fight is so predictable.
Chacal answered the question why the Spider didn't finish Demian Maia....It's not about pleasing the crowd, Dana White....or the UFC. This is just the chance to show Maia and the rest of the BJJ worshipers that brazilian jiujitsu is not all that.

Hey firecracker, Anderson Silva fought all of the greatest fighters you can possibly think of, and he finish all his fights, on the ground and standing. Unlike your boy GSP, all he knows how to do is take down and score points, lately the judges have been wining the fights for him, GSP has 6 unanimous decision and Silva has 2 because his fighters were running away from him, he couldn't even fish Dan hardy with an arm bar lol, and Dan has no ground skills whats so ever, what kind of champion is that. I hope you know that Anderson Silva is a black belt in BJJ. Anderson Silva can do what ever he wants in that octagon, Dana needs Silva more then Silva needs Dana. Suck on that

What does AS has to do to please the crowd? He is by far the most skilled fighter to ever step inside the octagon. Liking it or not, he always breaks his opponents physically and mentally and brings originality to the fights.

When he ran over Forrest Griffin several people said it was rigged.

When he started to devastate all his opponents in the first round, the UFC managers got worried about the PPV sales (the same thing happened to Mike Tyson).

So he plans to take a fight to the distance against Patrick Côté and again all he hears is criticism.

AS has beaten well rounded fighters such as Carlos Newton (former UFC Welterweight Champion), Jeremy Horn, Rich Franklin - twice (former UFC Middleweight Champion), Nate Marquardt, Dan Henderson (former Pride Welterweight and Middleweight Champion), Forrest Griffin (former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion) to name a few.

He has never been Knocked Out. He lost his very first fight by a split decision and 2 other by submission. His last true lost happened in December 31, 2004 against Ryo Chonan. Despite being controlling the fight, Silva was forced to submit at the last 15 seconds of the fight due to a flying scissor heel hook. Certainly AS learned a lot from this lesson and didn’t want to take unnecessary risk against Thales Leites and Damian Maia.

It takes two fighters to make a fight and when your are the challenger, is your duty to hunt the champion to take his belt, just like AS did to Rich Franklin. Thales Leites and Damian Maia didn’t do anything against AS and still he is the one to be blamed?

wow...this is the reason why you all are viewers and not fighters....brazilero fighters live in a totally diff world, dana should know not to put a bjj black belt against a bjj black belt+muay thai expert, there is too much rivalry going on in brazil...and what anderson kept saying was "submit me submit me 'POA POA = cmon cmon". you will see alot of these kinda fights in vale tudo and I love them...im not even brazilero but I am a UFC fan/muay thai fighter and I understand fully what AS was doing in there...you guys need to take a chill pill or prove to me that AS is not a great fighter...guess you got to go with the chill pill....suckers
