Guys, it's true they were blows to the back of the head and that they were six, but during the LONG time of 6 shots couldn't the referee stop Sakara? I have my doubts about whose is the fault of...

obviously the rules are there for a reason, and strikes to the back of the head are illegal.. but its a fight, and in the heat of the fight these kind of things happen, sometimes intentionally sometimes not- at the end of the day, its the REFEREE´s job to know the rules and make sure the fighters are keeping to them. And as for the canadians, i dont have a problem with them at all, but after seeing the way the crowd behaved at this event i was a bit disappointed: obviously its nice when people support their countrymen, but when you have gsp laying on condit at certain points and the crowd is literally going NUTS, then pablo garza does it he gets booed it just shows how the crowd feels about the intricacies of the sport vs the nationality of the fighters..

Good call. They were intentional illegal strikes to the back of the head. Sakara should lose because of that. Fighters should know the rules so now next time, he'll fight a little cleaner. Could he have TKOd Cote? Yes of course. But he just made the case worse for himself. Definitely needs a rematch.

dana white said it should have been a no contest, giving someone a win for being knocked out is kinda stupid

How can you say he was out long before the hammer fists? Was he in trouble? sure. But you can clearly see his body go limp after about 3 hammer fists to the back of the head. Sakara ended up landed up to 6 blows to the back of the head, and deserved to be disqualified. It's the fighters duty to know the rules, and blows to the back of the head are one of the more serious fouls.

kiddinme dude grow a pair. There are rules for a reason. The fight was not over from those elbows this guy has obviously never fought before. It was a good call your just a joke and if you have a problem with Canadians let it be known I would enjoy a challenge

are u guys f****** kidding? worst back of the head strikes ever? did u see vitor belfort knock the head off yoshihiro akyiama? and thats just the first example off the top of my head.. cote came in agressive, but sakara stuck it out, defended well, and switched the momentum of the fight- cote was out and had lost long before those hammer fists.. and they werent even that bad compared to others. So sad to see all those butthurt canadians not be able to appreciate someone that fought a better fight just because he´s not canadian.. most educated mma fanbase my ass!
