@Adam this is a sport, sometimes ppl get hurt but its the referees job to ensure they are as safe as possible. if a fighter is out on his feet its the refs job to stop the fight and make sure he doesnt take unnecessary damage. that you claim he could have thrown himself if he wanted to shows how little you know about fighting, he didnt know where he was! its not "mothering" to stop a fight when one fighter is defenseless, by that time the contest is over so there is no point in taking unnecessary risks with a mans health. only a retarded would think otherwise.

wow, i cant believe the ignorant and just dumb comments about not stopping the fight earlier... once a fighter turns his back to punches, the ref is supposed to stop it...old boxing rule..and it doesnt matter that its mma..look closely..he was knocked out on his feet, putting his arms out, turning his back...the ref was actually watching his head bouncing from punches and just stood there....that was shameful

fully agree with Anon - no control, no striking , wtf ? ref stoppage ? do u want mma to turn to Taekwondo ( electronic vests counting hits) or semi-contact kickboxing ? even now many fights are over strategic - boring and old school guys always went for the win , now just few of them : Rua, Jones, Diaz bros, Aldo, ... a few others .

way too late a stoppage. this is a sport, not cockfighting, by allowing this to happen were only allowing those accusations to become valid. most important thing in any sport is safety. refs need to know when a guy cannot protect himself. there are gray areas sometimes like in the kongo barry fight, which turn outto be good, but this is just allowing a fighter to get a possible injury to the head. its not about people being "soft" ore not tough enough to handle it, it's about fighter safety. the misha tate stoppage was horrible, and so is this. so many people just enjoy violence which is what they think this is, but its a sport, its an art, have an appreciation for that and take of the athletes.

Warren was out of the fight with 3:55 left. The ref stopped it at 3:36 or so. He could have stopped 10-20 seconds earlier. What a moron.

That was a good stoppage. if he was out before that he would have fell down. if a ref is supposed to watch misha tate's arm completely bend in half before she actually gives up and taps, or letting someone get completely choked unconscious with out giving up the why should someone like joe warren, obviously having some instincts to trying to grab pat curran until he is completely ko'd be looked any differant?? bottom line its to hard to tell, or predict someone is or isn't able to recover until there ko'd or submitted to the fullest. its a brutal sport. someone is supposed to get hurt. if we had refs jumping in to early we'd never see so many good comebacks and we wouldnt have to see people debate over a hendo vs, fedor type.situation.....in my opinion
