Can't tell if Miocic has a super strong chin...
... or Struve is just weak

Damn that was close for both guys. A lot of clean shot and reckless defense.

@ Fry ...

The more distance an objects travels the more force is behind it. Struve coming up with punches with his reach ... that hurts a lot, maybe even though he is not the strongest out there. But yeah, his reach + weight = major damage.

Struve never uses his reach. The first time I ever saw him use it is when he landed those few jabs in this fight. Every time he gets the crap beat out of him he is in Jose Aldos range.... like this fight. He got lucky.

for a 7 foot heavyweight that was pretty sloppy and weak striking

Too bad for the clear poke in the eye, Struve even almost got a second one in the final exchange. Not sure if it was intented, but it broke Miocic concentration for the final ko. Don't understand why nobody picked it up, or maybe i'm wrong.

i remember watching shaq v yao. Shaq said that Yao was the strongest player he ever faced. Guys, those punches may not come in with a lot of force, but they are strategic and you could see each hit was adding to the toll.

Struves striking isn't through the roof my any respect, but he knows he has a good chin, awesome ground skills, definitely top 5 in the hw div and has power simply by his size...the dude is 24 years old, give him a couple more years to work on his jab and filling out to his HUGE frame and this guy is a hw contender, if not champ For SURE!!!

Struve definitely isn't a premiere striker, but he has greatly evolved since his early days in the UFC. I remember his debut against JDS 3 1/2 years ago, where he was absolutely murdered. I figured he had no chance since he was so tall and lanky, but he has made that a really effective trait.

Give him a couple more fights against big name guys, and he will definitely be able to give JDS a fight in the future. I can almost guarantee that scenario.
