Nate Marquardt vs. Demian Maia UFC 102

Marquardt will dominate the MW division some day soon. Even Anderson Silva said Marquardt will be the next MW to dominate the division when he's done. I would love to see a rematch between the two. Marquardt is one of the best MWs in the world. #3 behind Silva and Hendo imo.

Anybody saying Marquardt got lucky or compares this to Serra Vs GSP is an idiot. Period. Marquardt is a beast. Mark my words. He is the next MW champion after Silva Vs Belfort.

If Marquardt and Maia fight 10 times Marquardt wins 9 of them.

Wrestling = Marquardt
boxing = Marquardt
Muay Thai = Marquardt
BJJ = Maia

But Maia wont get that takedown and would get demolished on the feet. Franco, you don't know anything about MMA.

Maia got KO..wow Marquardt really got some punching talent and power...hope Damian gets back after this loss. Hopefully his striking defense would be better. Bottomline his strongsuit is still BJJ.

As for Mr_X talking about belfort wouldnt stand a chance against silva or machida, maybe the 2 champions are more skilled than Vitor..but hell we like vitor's chances...the odds of him KO those guys are not impossible. This is MMA there is a 100 ways to win and a 100 ways to lose. Bottomline Mr_X you got some good analysis there but better be ready to swallow em if ur proven wrong. well im sorry but maia got knocked the fuck out. i myself was pulling for maia but Marquardt caught him with a straight right which was not luck but good timing. maia should have just pulled guard and fought off his back and probably had a better chance lol

Plus, lucky ppunches don't mean nothing. Same thing happened to GSP against Serra on their first fight. But look what happenned in the second. My prediction is "MAIA WILL BE BACK!"

Nate could have a million other fights against Maia and NONE of them would end up like this.

It was Demian's one mistake not to defend properly. And that is THAT.

he just got lucky? or was it maias inexperience or his incredibly one dimensional fighting style. they could fight a million times like you say and nate would win the majority. you cant base a fighters skill level in mma until they are fighting against serious top contenders and getting destroyed in under a minute against the first top level fighter you faced doesnt look all that good. he has no stand up and pretty bad conditioning from what ive seen
