Sonnen is a good fighter but he's not great like Silva. Anything can happen on the night though and i'd like to see him win. Then, we can see Silva fighting for something again.Thats the trouble.Its too easy for Silva at 185.Move him up after Sonnen and possibly one more to 205. The fight you want is Silva vs Shogun.

Styles make fights. Sonnen had the style to beat Nate. Sonnen did a great job. I love how he really puts the pressure on to get the take down, he doesn't just go for outside shots. Good fight.

Such a dominant fight from Chael Sonnen, I thought Nate was stronger, but he did got Chael off him he couldn't do anything to keep it standing up. But when it comes to Anderson Silva, he is just lethal on his stand up, he's got submissions and I don't think he is gonna be that easy to take down. I hope it makes for an interesting fight, though I don't really like wrestlers, I like fights going toe-to-toe or being finished, and Chael is not a finisher. He got submitted in spectacular fashion by Maia, and he is not a great striker, so I expect Anderson's reach to make a difference. Nate is a good fighter, very explosive and strong, and he is gonna coma back stronger, but he is not champion material. Good fight though, but I think Nate could've done different.

For starters ,GREAT FIGHT especially for one that was on the ground . there usually so boring . I agree with pornstar100 . What is up with Joe and Nate . Or is it just Joe ? I bet even Nate would be dissappointed in hearing Joe talk that way . Plain and simple : Nate got beat up ! I like Nate and all " Great fighter" but he really needs to work on his ground game . Sonnen beat Okami and Okami beat Anderson so you never know . Anderson also doesn't fight that great inside unless he has you in the clinch . I think if Sonnen sticks with his game plan the way he has been , he is very dagerous . Really great to see another new face in the UFC . ...........not sure whats up with ufc_fan101 . must be new at this .

no, i looked for something on nate throwing the fight but i couldn't find anything. i'm not discouning it but i like to believe that the ufc is free from that type for corruption and dirty business. However i wouldn't rule it out in today's sports world. you just never know.

When ufc 109 was over I went on wikipedia to find out who won the fights and when I clicked on Nate they had this section at the end of it talking about how one of Nate's trainers bet a high amount against Nate to lose, so they thought that he might have thrown the fight, but when I went on there today there was nothing about it anymore so I don't know what that was all about or not but has anyone else heard of that?

First of all, I didn't enjoy this fight just for the simple reason that I am a big Marquardt fan and I don't think Nate fought his best and that is the only reason he Sonnen won. Nate is more then good enough to beat Sonnen's grappling ability as he has beaten great grappler's before(Gouveia and Maia). I wasn't impressed by Sonnen and I know everyone thinks he beat the hell out of Nate but the only arguement i have that disproves that is look at their faces at the end of the fight. Sonnen looks much more beat up. Therefore I am lead to believe that Sonnen may have been busy, but was not inflicting damage. I dislike Sonnen and for a couple of reasons and they are as follows: he is a boring wrestler who fights for the decision rather then to finish the opponent, I hate seeing guys get contendership who didn't earn it. Really, who has Sonnen fought thats on the level of Anderson Silva, and lastly, Sonnen is a disrespectful idiot. And my proof lies in my explanation of a statement made earlier on this page regarding GSP and Rashad beating up Sonnen. If anyone watched the UFC 109 Countdown on spike, they would have heard Sonnen say that he would do anything to beat Nate, and that includes beating up GSP in the parking lot on his way to the fight, then beating up Rashad on his way to the after party(as GSP, Nate, and Rashad are all in the same camp) so that is why that comment was made and why Chael Sonnen is a complete tool.

I feel bad for Nate. Chael comes out of nowhere and takes his title shot. But he certainly earned it. Great fight but Nate could not get off of his back. It's pretty obvious that Joe Rogan is a Nate nut hugger. Good thing he's not a judge.
