Guillard litterally DOVE into that guillotine. why the f*** didn't he pull out INSTANTLY when he got the takedown? @first i thought he threw the fight. he gave Nate EVERY bit of time he needed 2 set that up. he HAD 2 have felt Diaz' arm around his neck and didnt even TRY to yank out....wtf??

two fighters i absolutely hate. how has melvin guillard not been dropped by the ufc yet?
|
I don't really believe it was so much of his confidence or arrogance that cost him this fight.... to me, personally @ least, it looks like Melvin gassed. He stopped throwing combinations and pretty much just tried to put space between himself and Diaz, and when he got caught in the guillotine he didn't put up much of fight until after it was already locked up. Melvin is one of my favortie fighters simply becuz I believe he could become champion one day, just not right now. Right now he dneeds to learn a hell of alot more submission defense, get his conditioning up to par and start fighting smarter. Then he could make it... Or he could go to the WEC, I think he'd run through everyone there to be honest, @ least make it to the top 5, something that isn't as easy in the UFC

U KNOW FOLKS, I AGREE ON HOW SOME OF U FEEL ABOUT GUILLARD, HE HAS SO MUCH POTENTIAL, HOWEVER HE ISN'T ALL THAT WELL ROUNDED, HE IS VERY ATHLETIC, HOWEVER HE DOES NOT HAVE A COMPLETE WELL ROUNDED ARSENAL. THIS GUY(GUILLARD) DISSAPOINT'S ME I SOMETIMES ROOT FOR HIM TO DO WELL BUT IN THE BIG FIGHTS HE ALWAY'S COMES UP TO SHORT, I SOMETIMES THINK HE LET'S HIS EMOTIONS GET IN THE WAY, THAT HE DOES NOT TRY TO WIN THE FIGHT, HE TRIES TO EXCITE THE CROWD BYE GOING FOR THE KO, AND ALTHOUGH HE IS A GOOD ATHLETE SOMETIMES I WONDER DOES HE REALLY WORK HARD, DOES HE REALLY TRY PUT IN THE TIME TO BE A CHAMPION, I HATE TO SAY NO HE DOES NOT, BUT WHEN U LOOK AT HIS FIGHTS HE'S BEATEN SOME GOOD FIGHTERS, BUT THOSE GUY'S JUST GOT CAUGHT OR CAN'T INTELIGENTLY CONTAIN HIM. WHEN GUILLARD DOES FACE A SMART FIGHTER HE EVENTAULLY BECOMSE THE LOSER, I MEAN DID U GUY'S SEE THE FIGHT, IT WAS A BIG WIN FOR DIAZ, BUT WHEN DIAZ WAS ATTEMPTING THE SUBMISSON GUILLARD LOOKED LIKE HE WASN'T TRYING TO EVEN ESCAPE IT SEEMED HE WAS TRYING TO LOSE!. THAT WAS A POOR PERFORMANCE FROM GUILLARD. I STILL WISH GUILLARD THE BEST HE IS ONLY 26YRS. OLD.

i was really pulling for melvin this fight. he was fighting smart in the beginning but he got way too comfortable and nate showing his phenomenal jiu jitsu slapped on the choke... great turn around for nate even though i wanted melvin =(

Melvin Guillard is such a limited skill fighter. How could this even be the main event of the fight card? Two non and probably never will be contenders? The maynard Huerta fight def shoulda been the main event
|
hey what is that in round 2 when it says recording? where did u get this video? its driving me nuts because i started recording at the exact same time.
|
Melvin has so much potential, it's not even funny. He just needs to stop getting submitted and find a really good bjj coach. Maybe big NOG. He lost this fight because he got careless and overly confident. I hope UFC keeps him still and give him another chance. Stop getting submitted Melvin...lol...This fool lost most if not all of his fights by submissions...lol...you would think he've learned his lesson, but NOOOOOO...
|
melvin isnt a solid fighter he has limited ground game from what ive seen in previous fights he goes for the knockout with ever punch not the combinations he tried 2 catch him with something crazy and he lost great job melvin

I can't see melvin getting much further in the UFC, he has the strength and athleticism, and even though he's improving on his skills, his cockiness will defeat him everytime, and I dont think he could control it. He had many opportunites in the standing game which he should have exploited, but he just danced around. I was routing for him to win, but I think he's finished as far as the belt is concerned. A good fighter must not only have strength and skill, he must have intelligence, congrats to Nate
