@RockLeeZy
Did the crowd hear Joe Rogan?
Did Dana White hear Joe Rogan?
Did the rest fighters like Rampage, Wandy, Belfort hear Joe Rogan?
Is Joe Rogan responsible for the statistic of this fight?
Did Joe Rogan create damage on Machidas body?
Did Joe Rogan make Rua more agressive and more active in the octagon?
Is Joe Rogan responsible because Rua landed more in every single round?
Is Joe Rogan guilty because all mma portals declared Rua as a winner?

I agree with you man, even though the other comments have a good point, the fight should have gone to rua. He landed more affective srikes. I know he didn't dominate machida but at the end of the fight I think everyone knew who won. Rua should have the belt around his waist.

ittou-ryou, I must say man you are one of the few people that make any sense what so ever. I'll tell you why so many people consider this to be one of the worst decisions in UFC history. It is because of the announcers. Every single thing Shogun did had Rogan screaming his head off and when machida landed they either made a brief statement or went on talking about something else as if it didn't happen.
How many exchanges did Machida win, and the only thing the commentators spoke on was a counter that Shogun threw even if he lost it. WoW the mmo fanbase is an absolute disgrace. That being said, I'm not saying that Shogun didn't do a great job, and honestly if he got the decision i wouldn't have been mad at all. But for those who say Machida got dominated or he lost all the rounds you were not watching the same fight i was. You better off downloading it and watching it in slow mo cause you must not be able to see exchanges in real time. 1st round was clearly Machidas as was the 3rd round. 4th and 5th belonged to Shogun. The 2nd was a toss up and the best argument for giving it to Shogun was the work he did at the end with the knees to the legs when he had machida up against the fence. People need to understand that DAMANGE does not = VICTORY in a point system. If one person gets more hurt than the other in a round its still a 10 9 round unless he gets totally beat down. Based off strictly points Machida won. Is it kinda sucky that it went down this way YEA. I love Machida but by the 5th round he looked a bit weak and Shogun was looking fresh. Under old the old school way with no time limit Shogun would have most likely came out on top perhaps even with a knock out.
However based solely on those 5 rounds it was not a domination for either fighter. It could have gone either way and it just so happened to go Machidas way. This was no robbery it was an amazing job by the judges and i tip my hat to them.

You guys need to seriously consider what ittou-ryou posted he says it all, neither fighter really "owned" the other. Almost every strike that each fighter threw at each other was answered it was a stalemate. Additionally in watchin the fight closely i noted that on about four different occasions throughout the fight Machida rocked Rua with accurate strikes forcing him to clinch, maybe that was why he got the judges nod. And seriously, Rua fought well, he will get a rematch, and now that the fighters know eachother it will be one hell of a fight especially since neither really won this fight. Why are you guys pissed?? Seriously ....c'mon.. badass rematch... Hello!!

I am a big lyoto machida fan, but that fight should have gone the other way. I didn't see machida win one round. shogun stood toe to toe with Machida and landed a leg kick that left a big red mark on machida's body. I never expected this fight to go this way because of shogun's agresive style. But it wasn't like that. Shogun threw many careful leg kicks that seem to slow down machida he also got the better of the exchange of punches when machida tryed to pressure him in one of the late rounds. I would love to see the rematch. I think machida should have a better game plan

I like Machida but he look like a lazy fighter with his posture. Shogun should win this fight by the way. Just to be fair.

One more thing: I would really love to see a PPV option to get the event without any commentary. I would pay an extra $20 just to see the thing with sound but nobody talking. It's not as if Mike Goldberg knows anything about MMA, he just interviews fighters, reads off statistics and has an anouncer's voice.

Sadly this amazing fight will be forever tainted by the ignorance of the fanbase. No one dominated this fight. Machida in no way "owned" Shogun, nor were Shoguns repeated leg kicks effective towards ending the fight.
Sadly, after watching the 1st round in slow motion and then comparing what actually happened to fight metrics results I can tell you that they aren't accurate. For instance, they have Rua landing 2 strikes to Machida's body in the first round. Not counting strikes that were only glancing he actually landed 5. Maybe fight metrics has additional camera angles but their results were up within an hour of the fight, meaning they didn't have time to watch it in slow motion.
In actuality, the concept of having to dominate the champ to take the belt is nowhere in the rules.
Also, apparent physical damage is no way to gauge an overall fight. A split lip is not significant damage. A concussion may look the same as no damage at all. Bright red legs look impressive, but weren't enough to keep Machida from stuffing multiple takedown attempts.
Also, under the current system, the overall fight is not taken into account in the final score, merely the results of each seperate round are added together (which I do not believe gives an accurate picture of the fight). I would also like to see the fighters be informed of their scores going into each new round.
The rematch should be held in a state that will allow for old school UFC rules. No rounds, no time limit, one fighter is knocked out or submits so the fight can't go to the judges. That said, Machida took this fight on a subjective point system. His takedown defense and numerous and accurate counterstrikes to the head and body got him the unanimous favor of the judges in 2 of the rounds.
