Jon Jones was obviously winning this fight, but honestly, I was just surprised he wasn't DQ'd earlier in the fight than that. UFC has long passed by the days when the matches were simply about who could beat the hell out of who, if you want to be making the kind of money that comes with being a sanctioned sport you have to learn how to fight within the guidelines. Jones showed good sportsmanship with how he handed the completely justified disqualification and I look forward to his fight with Brendan Vera.

There is a fair chance that after the fight Maz and the ring side judges consulted eachother regarding the 12 to 6 elbows, determined there were enough of them to call them delebrite and therefore DQ Jones. I did like the way how Jones was mature in defeat, he knows he was the better fighter and god help the next man he faces!! very impressive

matt Thought the fight was over by TKO, and its probably for the best because he couldn't fight anymore.

Those 12 to 6 elbows were illegal, mazagati then separated them. hamill couldn’t open his eyes (bleeding into his sockets) mazagati walks over to hamill and asks him ‘are you done?’. YOUR A REF U MAKE THE CALLS. Matt is deaf too, if i ever see mazagati, I will rip his throat out steven seagal style. UFC has the worst reffing, judging, and president in mma. I rather watch Aoki in his +5 submission, +10 dexterity pants. Which sounds gay, but not as gay as the UFC.

Legal or ilegal, matt was dominated. So Jones shoud have been punished with an amount of money to pay, but you don't take a clear win like that from a fighter. That said, I have seen Hammil in better shape before, he was not hungry at all, and his conditioning sucked. Hope he gets better, but a rematch would end no differently. Jones was a beter man that night.

Unfortunatley the right call....hamill was in terrible shape and the two illegal strikes werent the reason but jonser will be back for the belt

I was scared that mazzagatti, having the bad track record that he does, would have stopped the fight when Hamill was on the ground. I'm impressed and glad that he didn't because Hamill was blocking most of those.
Anyone who says Mazzagatti is an idiot for not stopping the fight while Hamill was getting "smashed" doesn't know what they are talking about.
And what is sorta sad to think about is... Did Hamill even hear Mazzagatti offer him to continue fighting ("Are you done?")? Because I think Hamill might of thought the fight was already finished =\ . Then there of been bad communication with him and his camp immediately after.

He had a freaking dislocated shoulder and was completely messed up. Jones would have just won by TKO if they had kept going. Hamill is a great guy and fighter but Jones just destroyed him. Jon Jones is a unique fighter, love his unpredictable and rare fighting style. He's still young and he will dominate his weight class soon.

Naw, you guys got it all wrong Mazz had to warn Jones but he didn't stop the fight Matt Ham said he couldn't continue, doc checked the cut and blood interfered with Ham's vision, but I think its jacked that Jone's lost that fight! Jones is a bad ass, just too quick for Hamil and more experience in striking, Jones beat Matt at his own game! Jones should've won, he is a very exciting fighter and can't wait to see him fight again. Go JONES!!

BIG HEIST! Jones was robbed. He dominated clearly, and hammill couldnt continue because of the shoulder injury and the beating. Those last illegal 2 blows were wrong, and mazzagatti already took a point. No how you declare it a DQ? NC at worst but it should have ended with TKO win for JONES. This will affect the Kid, who was very motivated to keep his record at 0, and was improving a lot fight by fight.
