kongo shoud have won he rocked cain like in 5 seconds

Cain is nothing but a ground and pounder like Ortiz. Kongo was dominating the fight on the feet. He is a great boxer but needs a lot of work on defending take downs. Once he does that, Kongo is going to be unstoppable. Mark my words!!!

WRONG!
sorry. I had high hopes for kongo, too. he still has a chance to climb the rankings but its a slim one. no disrespect.
|
No disrespect taken. I must say It seems like you're going by the Mir fight and forget to realize just how much Frank Mir has improved his stand-up. Don't get me wrong, I think Kongo hasn't evolved like other fighters has and I agree with you in that since, but I still think his a force to be reckon with. Hopefully he realize he needs to change his camp in able to accomplish this like many great fighters have. I think his loyalty to his camp is his biggest down fall. That's why he hasn't improved along with the greats like GSP, PENN, MIR and FLORIAN. I hope somebody around him makes this realization and beat it into his brain that HE NEED TO CHANGE CAMP. Maybe Craig Jackson can get him back on track.

word. hes kinda like clay guida with his "never changing skill set." he really does/did have potential but i dont know how many chances dana is gonna give him. usually, it's 3 losses in a row and youre cut. i hope he wakes up. i like him more than most of the deuches in the HW division (mir and lesnar grumble grumble)

You know what, I thought Mir was a deuche bag too until that Kongo fight. He really impressed me. Not because he knocked out Kongo, but because he handled the win with absolute grace. He showed complete class and didn't push Kongo off of him like I've seen other fighters do with a passed out fighter. He kept his composure and immediately checked on Kongo. I really like that. To me, that's the hallmark of a true champion who respects the sport and not some dumbass thug. That's why GSP is my favorite fighter. Even if he starts losing, I will always be a fan because of his character as a fighter.

By the way, I agree with you about Clay Guida. Another example of a fighter who has so much potential but can't seem to fully grasp the sport of MMA is Melvin Guillard. This guy can do big things if he really get his head right and surround himself with the right bjj trainers. HE CAN DO BIG THINGS!!!!

god kongo should be a boxer
|
Why didn't mirgliotta stand this fight up when cain shot and was not working?
why didn't mirgliotta stand up the fight and warn/take points from cain after he repeatedly hit kongo in the back of the head, on multiple occasions?
terrible performance by cain. kongo had the wrong strategy, but would easily win a rematch reffed by any other referee. Even tho Cain won, this fight has exposed him and the hype train has come to an abrupt halt. Cain will only ever amount to a HW gatekeeper, much like Herring.
Kongo can still make a run at things, if her buries his pride about being manhandled, and fights to his strengths.
