this may be my all time favorite knockout! for a few reasons 1) it illustrates to perfection why anderson silva is the best p4p NO DOUBT (fedor is a distant #2) 2) i respect forrest griffin. yes this is a terrible match up for griffin but all you fags that are saying his career has went downhill SINCE this fight...how do you figure? he's had one match which he beat tito ortiz (shulda been for the 2nd time). griffin has had some impressive victories, i'm not sayin he's like a p4p canidate but for christ sakes give him some credit he aint chop liver. the fact silva that silva dimantled griffin says more about silva than griffin to me. fuck. its like baseball, "it's not what you've done it's what you've done lately". shit just irritates me.

Don't even blame Forrest for leaving. Think about spending countless months preparing for a fight like this and getting knocked out like that. Its time all wasted. Forrest has got a huge heart and still is my favorite fighter. Yeah Anderson is an amazing fighter but Forrest was just out classed. Personally I also think Anderson is disrespectful for doing that to Forrest. The guy just needs to show some class. Forrest is still my favorite fighter, he came right back and beat Tito after this..

Anyone who says Forrest is not a good fighter is simply uneducated and has no fucking right to post comments on this page. When I hear this shit it makes me want to put on some gloves and kick some 'hater' ass.
Now, with that being said...Forrest is a badass and I give him credit for going in there with one of the very best in the world and standing toe to toe with him.
Dana is smart...very smart. He made this match so it wouldn't be a boring Silva fight...and it wasn't boring at all.
Forrest stood up to Silva and he got dropped...it happens.
Anderson Silva is amazing. I would love to see GSP fight him. I think GSP would win. Just like in a street fight...if you tackle someone to the ground and remain on top of them and proceed to ground and pound the shit out of them you will win the fight. GSP and Brock Lesnar are the best at this...that is why they are so dominant. Anderson has tremendous takedown defense so it would definately prove to be GSP's toughest challenge yet...and I'm sure Anderson walks around about 25 pounds heavier than GSP so that would make it interesting as well...and Anderson is just an incredibly accurate striker. Silva vs Georges is just one of those fights that mma fans dream about.
One last thing...I hate it when some dork says "He got knocked the fuck out." Listen to me...whoever says that dumb ass ignorant phrase still...YOU ARE NOT COOL.

I agree with your point with Forrest is a really good fighter but he went into that fight with the worlds shittiest gameplan(standing and trading strikes with silva) when he should have at least tried to take that fight to the ground. he would have had a much better chance of winning or at least not losing in the first round.
But I think that Gsp would lose to Silva. Silva has to many ways to win. Either this fight will be amazing and entertaining or a boring wrestling match. I can see Silva winning by points by dancing around and landing strikes while avoiding Gsp's takedowns( ala thales lietes fight). Or Silva will fusttrate Gsp and Gsp will go for broke and engage with a flurry to get the takedown ending with another beautiful Silva counterstrike.
The only way that Gsp will win is if he is able to get the take down and keep top control for 25 minutes while avoiding Silva submissions. Bottom line is that Gsp's style has been boring as hell to watch ever snce he got tko'd by lil serra. With that said Silva showed probually the best boxing that I have ever seen in mma against forrest griffin.
By the way a Silva v Fedor would be the best/most entertaining super fight by no doubt the two best pound for pound fighter in all of mma of all time.
