The fight was not the best I saw Anderson fight. Ok. I give you that.
But nobody in his right mind would ever say there is a worthy oponent for Silva today. Not even GSP.
I mean, c'mon. He almost destroyed Maia's spirit and determination, besides his face.
Although I love Maia, he was no rival for Silva.

If there's one thing we don't need, it's people who are as fucking stupid as you putting stupid comments like that here. Seriously, if that was the case here, then why isn't Dana pissed at George St Pierre yet? The reason Dana is pissed at Silva is because here we have arguably the least threatening opponent that Silva has ever faced, and for the entire fight, Silva acts in an extremely unprofessional manner, one that even pissed off the referee and almost made him deduct a point from Silva. Dana White is mad because Silva made an absolute mockery out of a sport that Dana loves. Mike Tyson was unstoppable at one point, but the guys in charge loved him because he actually dominated and finished fights, rather than make the sport he participated in look like a joke, he took the sport seriously. If I were a booker and actually gave a damn about the company I was booking for unlike you if you were in that situation, I would be pretty pissed about that to.
And as for those who say Damian Maia has no business fighting for the title, I could make the same arguement that Vitor Belfort has no business fighting for the title either because before the fight with Silva, Maia only had one loss, and he just got off a win against Dan Miller, a good fighter in the UFC. I mean sure, Vitor beat Rich Franklin, I'll give him that, but that's his first fight in what is now his third UFC run, and after getting only one win he was suddenly supposed to get a title shot? No. That's stupid. Vitor got injured, and Demain Maia simply stepped in to take the fight. Now I honestly didn't think Maia had a chance, as he didn't, but still, he actually deserved this chance unlike some people who I think got their shots to quickly.
