Tom "Da' Tank" Gallicchio spoke with The Fight Nerd this week about his upcoming match in M-1 Challenge 27 in Arizona on October 14 against Daniel Madrid. Gallicchio spoke about how he prepared for this fight, as well as on the new training camp he instituted for this fight. We also spoke about his history with M-1 so far and his thoughts on his treatment with them, his toughest fight in the company, and his opinion on the man he beat in the finals, Len Bentley, ending up on "The Ultimate Fighter" season 13 and not him. Fight Nerd correspondant Syl Peterkin spoke with the M-1 Global Light-Heavyweight champion, Vinny Magalhaes this weekend at the "Ultimate Absolute" no-gi grappling tournament. Vinny beat Marcos "Buchecha" Almeida by toehold in the first round, then Daniel Gracie in the second round with a banana split, but was defeated by the grand champion Andre Galvao in the semi-finals.
Magalhaes discussed the tournament and what went wrong against Andre, and gives us some insight as to what is next with his contract with M-1 Global, including his plans are after his final fight with the company is done this October. more
