Now he's in the finals of the Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix. How did Cormier make it here in such a short amount of time? Well, according to the former two time Olympian it all came down to hard work and determination and he showed that by beating Antonio 'Bigfoot' Silva on Saturday night in Cincinnati. While his hand it hurting after the fight, Cormier is hoping to duplicate that same success when he faces Josh Barnett in 2012 for the Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix title. Two stages of the Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix are now over and Josh Barnett finds himself now in the finals against former Olympian Daniel Cormier.

Barnett got there with a first round submission win over Sergei Kharitonov, and following his win he spoke to MMAWeekly.com about how he got the set up and the finish in the fight.

Young Canadian Jordan Mein worked very hard to make his way to the big show, but once he finally did he made the most of it.

After a tough first two rounds, Mein finally got his opponent Evangelista 'Cyborg' Santos' timing down and saw a golden opening to finish the fight.

Mein unloaded a barrage of elbow strikes on the feet until Santos was simply being held up by the cage before falling to the mat.
