JJ Mondragon vs Matt Vigil in a 135 lb. elimination title bout. Vigil took an immediate shoot and Mondragon set in a tight standing guillotine choke. Mondragon then lifted Vigil off of his feet and when Vigil still refused to tap Mondragon flipped him over for a huge slam takedown. On the mat Mondragon worked GNP from back control until several scrambles for position ensued. In the scrambles Mondragon always maintained dominant position and the round ended with him in back control. Round two began with Vigil trapping a kick and scoring a takedown. On the ground both fighters put their wrestling skills on display working for position until Vigil ended in the guard of Mondragon to. From there he worked GNP then transitioned to back control. From there Vigil set in an RNC that he was able to close off to win the title at 2:57 of round two.
