8th degree Red and Black Belt, Master Relson Gracie talks kimono colors, instructors' programs, and belts. The Gracie family attach a lot of importance to the culture and background of the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Some may agree with Master's conservative views and some may not. You have to keep in mind that Relson comes from a strong lineage and is in fact an "Old School" Gentleman. He came from a different era and still has this vision of respect and tradition when it comes to the Kimono color and belt. What we thought was funny was the names he attributes to people wearing different Gi colors and belts. It is to be taken with a grain of salt.
