Jose Aldo Junior believes the fate of his rematch with Conor McGregor is dependent upon the outcome of Diaz vs McGregor 2 on August 20th. Aldo states:
"If he loses (to Diaz), it’s highly likely that they put us to fight on November 12, at Madison Square Garden. The Irish community is big over there (New York). But if he wins, I think they will do a third fight between them and ruin all my plans."
Conor himself expects a victory and also expects a third fight with Diaz at some point.
If the UFC did decide to do a third fight between Diaz and McGregor in New York, that would be 3 fights between them in a span of just over 8 months.
That'd be faster than when the UFC put on 3 fights between Andrei Arlovski and Tim Sylvia within a span of just over a year and five months.
If the UFC ends up doing McGregor vs Aldo in New York that will be exactly 11 months after their first fight at UFC 194.
