When in a real fight situation it is always good to know what BJJ moves work best and which moves are more limited to a sport situation. In this analysis we find that our the BJJ practitioner learns the hard way that some moves are best left for a sports setting. But does that make sport Jiu-Jitsu a bad thing? Not at all I do plenty of sport BJJ and I believe its the best way to get in a lot of practice. However its very important to test you BJJ in an MMA setting which is the safest way to simulate an actual fight. When experimenting with your BJJ in an MMA setting you will learn to strengths and weakness of your BJJ. Be sure to be honest with yourself and make the needed adjustments to help improve your game. Most importantly be sure to develop a game that is "Universal". Universal BJJ is BJJ that works in every situation. In my book that is the best kind of BJJ.
