I love testing my Jiu-Jitsu in every way possible. Whether the situation is standing or on the ground, on the bottom or the top, on the mat or in the cage, Gi or No Gi, I want the type of Jiu-Jitsu you can rely on in any situation. This is what I have started to refer to as Universal Jiu-Jitsu. In the following roll you will see me use a variety of techniques from traditional takedowns to pulling guard. Over the years at Tristar Gym we have develop a unique system for getting the fight to the ground. In future episode I will cover what I call "Guard Pulling 2.0" and of course many very important key takedowns. Blending both takedowns and creative guard pulling strategies we can control where the battle takes place and that is a very powerful advantage. Notice also in this video that a lot of takedowns will also lead to many submission opportunities. This is also a truly key part of developing a style of Universal Jiu-Jitsu.
