Anthony Pettis resumed training at the Jackson-Wink Gym in Alburquerque, and noted on his Instagram account that he's back to work and 145 is in the works. In February 2013, Pettis was in line to fight for the lightweight title, but made a decision not to wait and dropped down to 145 and fight Jose Aldo for the featherweight belt at UFC 163. The fight was booked but Pettis sustained a knee injury and was replaced by Chan Sung Jung. Pettis has lost his last 3 fights to Rafael Dos Anjos, Eddie Alvarez, and Edson Barboza. Pettis' goal was to get the lightweight belt back after losing it to Dos Anjos in March 2015, but he currently sits at #7 in the lightweight rankings. Pettis walks around at 175 pounds. Featherweight Max Holloway walks around the same weight , and later in his career he thinks he'll move up to lightweight.
