Anderson “Braddock” Silva is a veteran of the heavyweight kickboxing circuit. Born and raised in Sao Paolo, Brazil, he spent many years resident in Amsterdam as the main sparring partner of the legendary Peter Aerts. Three years ago he returned to live in Brazil. He is often confused with Anderson “The Spider” Silva, former UFC middleweight champion, and to add to the confusion, the two have trained together regularly at Team Nogueira in Rio de Janeiro.
Silva is fighting in the Heavyweight Contender Tournament at GLORY 29 COPENHAGEN and if he wins will get a title shot against Rico “The Prince” Verhoeven, GLORY heavyweight champion. In this interview Silva reveals why he thinks now is finally his time to shine.
He also talks about Junior Dos Santos, a sometime training partner of his, and the rivalry between fellow Brazilian Jose Aldo and his Irish antagonist Conor McGregor.
