I veckans MMA Panel gästas vi av Kevin Sataki och Andreas Bodin från Superior Challenge som pratar svenska MMA-galors roll i dagens MMA och om höstens stora Superior Challenge gala i Scandinavium i Göteborg. X Guard can be a fantastic position for sweeping an opponent with really good base. Any time that you can get your hips under your opponent your ability to challenge their base becomes increased. There are literally countless ways to enter into X Guard. Over the next series of videos I use the same entry. This is a very easy entry and it focuses on good hip movement and body angle. In this video I show a very flashy and fun transition into the Triangle off of the Leg Weave.I really like this move because it can surprise your opponent when they get stagnant in the Leg Weave position. I became very successful with the sweeps off of the Leg Weave series and people started dropping their base and refusing to move. This made some of the sweeps difficult and I had to come up with another option that let me threaten them into moving. This transition was just the threat that I watch video >>

There are times when you can not get the underhook. In those instances it is very important that you have other options to threaten your opponent. In this video I show a great sweep/reversal (depending on if you use your legs to elevate them) that starts from the Half Guard position with a Kimura grip. Obviously if I have the choice I would prefer the underhook, with that being said threatening your opponent with a submission can be a great way to transition from bottom to top.
