Defending the X Guard can be a huge pain in the butt. The absolute best defense to the X Guard is to never let anyone get under you. This is easier said than done. In this video I cover a very late defense. Because this is a late defense you will notice a couple of places that your opponent can create problems for you. Please DO NOT think this is a perfect defense for the X Guard, but rather it's something you can do instead of just standing there, trying to keep your base, until ultimate watch video >>

There is nothing more important than a stable base and good posture. This will set up all of the things that you want to do. Once you have stabilized your watch video >>

The Leg Weave Open Guard can be a difficult position to deal with. I previously posted a series of sweeps from this position so it's only fair that I show a defense as well. The most important part about this position is stopping your opponent from weaving their leg in the first place. You can do this by playing with the space between your shoulder and your bicep and/or protecting this space with your head/face. However I am a realist and realize that at some point this will probably happen watch video >>
