http://www.mmaweekly.com/ -- It took Jamie Varner and Melvin Guillard a couple of tries to finally make it all the way to the Octagon and fight, but it happened at UFC 155 with Varner coming out on top. There was some heat between the two leading up to the fight, but Varner says a lot of that has to do with them both being very emotionally charged fighters that lay it all on the line. In this video I show a submission from the Knee On Belly position. I have heard this called a couple of different names and always referred to it as a reverse grip Baseball Choke. I'm sure that it has a name, I'm also sure that I don't know it. So for the purpose of this video I will refer to it as "Modified Bread Cutter". Let me start by saying this is NOT one of my favorite submissions, but it is common enough that you need to know to defend against it and good enough that if you have a watch video >>

In this video I show a very common escape from the armbar position, the L- Grip Escape. There are a couple of points that you really need to make sure to do well or you will not be able to escape effectively. The first step will be to take a good grip on the inside of your bicep or on your far side lapel. The bicep has some great counters but oddly I have experienced a lot of BJJ practitioners prefer grabbing the bicep over grabbing the lapel. Irregardless of which grip you take it must be s watch video >>

This move started off as an intermediate transition from Mount to Side Control. Over the last couple of months my whole school has seen this move transform their games. Something so simple and basic as stepping over the leg can really revolutionize your game. I show two places where this can be really useful but there are even more instances where it shines. My suggestion is to rep it out and then try it and let me know what you think. I use it frequently to get to Side Control after they have s watch video >>

in this video I show you my number 1 submission from Mount. This is a mix of a couple of different types of armbars and strongly resembles the S Mount armbar. It differs from the S Mount armbar in the fact that I never move my hips up into high mount to dominate my opponents upper body. This allows me to keep my body weight distributed directly above my opponents hips and maintain a better amount of base. This armbar does not feel as threatening to your opponent as some other armbars and tha watch video >>
