CM Punk has his work cut out for him as he makes his move from professional wrestler to pro MMA fighter. It could be many months of toil before he emerges feeling prepared to meet his goal. And if he gets there, it will be under the wing of Duke Roufus, head coach of the Milwaukee Roufusport Gym. That is the training home to UFC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis and One FC welterweight champ Ben Askren, among others. It's been a fairly opaque process for us outsiders. Until today, that is, whe read news >>

It looks like another four fighters are going to be looking for fights outside the UFC in the immediate future. The UFC continues to whittle away at their roster. After ballooning it way up over the past couple of years, they've slowly been working to maintain something of an equilibrium, bringing in a few new fighters here and there, releasing a few others to compensate. The days when they were taking on 25 new contracts a month and only cutting five or six appear to be behind us. In this lates read news >>

Invicta featherweight champ Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino would have to cut at least 40 pounds to make bantamweight and challenge Ronda Rousey for the UFC title. While Rousey collected Cat Zingano’s arm with a 14-second submission Saturday at UFC 184, Cyborg bludgeoned Charmaine Tweet in just 46 seconds Friday at Invicta FC 11. Both fights ending in highlight-reel fashion only stirred the m read news >>

For three former Top 10 fighters, this weekend may be the end of the line. Saturday's UFC 184 out of Los Angeles seems much diminished following the loss of Chris Weidman's title defense against Vitor Belfort and a potential title eliminator between Jacare Souza and Yoel Romero. However, the card still has some significant historical value for MMA sophisticates such as you and me:--it's the first UFC event that features a women's division in both main and co-main event spots, and it may well ser read news >>

Make sure you're not sipping something you'd spit out onto your monitor when you see this one. As previously reported, Michael "Venom" Page was booted from Bellator MMA's "British Invasion" this Friday (Feb. 27, 2015) in Uncasville, Connecticut. The two most common reasons a fighter is scratched from an event this late in the game are injury and illness. In this case, it was the former and not the latter. Until now, we didn't know what said injury was, but thanks to Page's Twitter account, we've read news >>
