Silva, who stepped up to light heavyweight to save the injury-rattled UFC 153, brazenly took Bonnar's best shots before launching a knee that crumpled "The American Psycho" in the first round.
The light heavyweight bout served as the main event of Saturday's UFC 153 event at HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro.

Despite the persistent "Rocky" storylines heading into Saturday's UFC 153 event, the night's headliner played out like so many folks predicted: UFC middleweight Anderson Silva shut down heavy underdog Stephan Bonnar.
Silva's 16th consecutive UFC win followed another big victory for his countryman, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, who handled fellow heavyweight Dave Herman.

RIO DE JANEIRO - When you're considered by oddsmakers as a 12-to-1 favorite heading into a fight, chances are you don't stand to gain much by defeating an opponent you apparently should outclass.
And so it is with UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva, who by most accounts is expected to absolutely destroy Stephan Bonnar in the main event of Saturday's UFC 153 event.
But "The Spider" says he doesn't see the fight as all risk and no reward.
