A UFC 183 featherweight bout has been scrapped at the last second due to one of the fighters falling ill. Well, this is a bummer. One of the highlights of the UFC 183 prelims (at least in my eyes) was going to be a featherweight scrap between Ultimate Fighter winner Diego Brandao and Jimy Hettes. Unfortunately though, it appears that Hettes got sick in the last hour or so and the bout has been scratched from the card. I'm told the Brandao-Hettes fight has been canceled due to Hettes suffering fr read news >>

LAS VEGAS -- The scale can sometimes be a tougher opponent for John Lineker than the man set to stand across from him in the Octagon. In three of Lineker's seven UFC fights, he has come in over the 126-pound flyweight limit. In just about every other one, even if Lineker makes weight he needs at least two tries to do it. And hitting 125, the mark he'll need to compete in a title fight by rule, has been a difficult proposition. Still, the Brazilian slugger doesn't think his evident weight-cutting read news >>

The former Strikeforce 205-pound champion couldn’t do much in the gym during recovery time. In fact, "Feijao" couldn’t do anything at all for a few weeks, and that made him gain a lot of weight. "I couldn’t train or work out. I couldn’t even run, man," Cavalcante told MMAFighting.com. "I went up to 255 pounds. I was soft. I lost a lot already, an read news >>

UFC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis offered his prediction for the upcoming title fight against Rafael dos Anjos. Not only has Anthony Pettis been forced to tolerate consistent trash-talk from Dagestan-native Khabib Nurmagomedov for the past few months, but also now finds himself deflecting similar jabs from the ordinarily reserved Rafael dos Anjos. Dos Anjos, who is scheduled to challenge Pettis for the lightweight championship at UFC 185 in March, recently made the bold proclamation that s read news >>

LAS VEGAS - In part due to the Cung Le testing fiasco, the UFC has dropped its plan to implement its own out-of-competition drug testing. Instead, the company will donate money to state athletic commissions in order to enable them to conduct the year-round, random testing, UFC president Dana White told reporters on Thursday. "What we'll do is we'll help fund it so they can do better drug testing, more drug testing," White said. "They can handle it. They're the regulators." White used the example read news >>
