The cancellation of this past month's UFC 151 event resulted in a financial hit for Thiago Tavares.
But he's willing to eat the costs since it provided more time to train for his rescheduled bout at Friday's UFC on FX 5 event.
"There's no such thing as overtraining," he told MMAjunkie.com. "You can't train too much. Whoever came up with that is a liar. If one trains too much, does one become too good or too fast?"

TORONTO - The talk about UFC 151's cancellation eventually will die off, even if history never agrees over who was most to blame.
But it would be hard to argue that Saturday's UFC 152 card is not better because of the scrapping of UFC 151. After all, the card in Toronto got a second title fight because of it - a pay-per-view rarity.
But Tom Wright, the UFC's director of Canadian operations, said the company merely was making the best of a bad situation.

The UFC 151 cancellation and circus around UFC 152 have featured no shortage of talking.
