Bantamweights Yaotzin Meza and John Albert have been added to the UFC on Fox 8 fight card slated for July 27 in Seattle.
UFC officials announced the new bout on Thursday.
The bout marks Meza’s (19-8) second start in the Octagon. He faced the difficult task of debuting on short notice against Chad Mendes, currently the No. 2 featherweight fighter in the world. He lost that bout via first-round knockout.
He’ll get a second chance to prove his worth in the Octagon at UFC on Fox 8, when he moves down to 135 pounds.
Albert (7-4), however, may be in even more dire need of proving his worth when the two square off.
Albert made his way into the UFC via season fourteen of The Ultimate Fighter, winning his promotional debut at the TUF 14 Finale.
He has since skidded to three consecutive defeats, losing to Ivan Menjivar, Erik Perez, and Scott Jorgensen.
UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson puts his belt on the line against John Moraga in the UFC on Fox 8 main event.
