A bout between “The Ultimate Fighter: Latin America 1? winner Yair Rodriguez (5-1 MMA, 2-0 UFC) and featherweight Daniel Hooker (12-5 MMA, 2-1 UFC) is the latest addition to UFC 192.
UFC officials recently announced the bout.
UFC 192 takes place Oct. 3 at Houston’s Toyota Center. The main card airs on pay-per-view following prelims on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.
It’s not clear where Rodriguez vs. Hooker will be placed on the lineup.
Rodriguez won “TUF: Latin America” by defeating Leonardo Morales in the tournament final. The 22-year-old, who turned pro in 2011 and won “TUF” after just four pro bouts, then followed it up with a split-decision victory over Charles Rosa, though most media outlets (via MMADecisions.com) scored it a unanimous-decision win for him.
He now looks for his third straight UFC victory when he meets Hooker, a New Zealander who looks to build off a head-kick knockout of vet Hatsu Hioki in his most recent bout. The well-rounded 25-year-old is now 7-1 in his past eight fights, and his past three wins have come via knockout.
