With a new main event set for the UFC’s Memorial Day weekend card in Las Vegas, the show has a new on-sale date for tickets.
Tickets were set to go on sale this past week. But when middleweight champion Chris Weidman had to have his title fight with Lyoto Machida pushed to UFC 175 because of a knee injury, the on-sale date was delayed until a new main event could be secured.
That new headliner is a bantamweight title fight between champion Renan Barao (32-1 MMA, 7-0 UFC) and T.J. Dillashaw (9-2 MMA, 5-2 UFC). Tickets for the event go on sale to the general public next week.
UFC 173 is set for May 24 at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The main card will air on pay-per-view following prelims on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.
UFC Fight Club members can purchase tickets on April 9 at 10 a.m. PT. In addition, UFC e-newsletter subscribers can purchase their tickets on April 10 at 10 a.m. PT. Tickets for the general public go on sale April 11 at 10 a.m. ET.
The card also features a new welterweight bout between Jake Ellenberger (29-7 MMA, 8-3 UFC) and recent title challenger Robbie Lawler (22-10 MMA, 7-4 UFC), plus a heavyweight fight between former champion Junior dos Santos (16-3 MMA, 10-2 UFC) and contender Stipe Miocic (11-1 MMA, 5-1 UFC). Additionally, the lineup includes lightweights Tony Ferguson (14-3 MMA, 4-1 UFC) vs. Katsunori Kikuno (22-5-2 MMA, 1-0 UFC) and Jamie Varner (21-9-1 MMA, 3-4 UFC) vs. James Krause (20-5 MMA, 1-1 UFC).
The UFC has not yet determined the new bout order for the card.
