Known as Hugo “Wolverine” in his native Brazil, Viana has yet to
taste defeat as a professional. The “TUF: Brazil” alum made his
official promotional debut last June, taking a split decision from
fellow castmate John
Teixeira da Conceicao at UFC 147 before earning a devastating
first-round knockout over Reuben
Duran on Dec. 15 at the “TUF 16” finale.
Dillashaw, meanwhile, returns to the Octagon fresh off a
second-round drubbing of Issei
Tamura at UFC 158. The victory marked the third straight win
for the 27-year-old, who earned one-sided victories over Walel
Watson and Vaughan Lee
in his two in-cage appearances last year. Dillashaw has suffered
just one setback in eight career outings, falling by knockout to
Dodson at the “TUF 14” finale in December 2011.
