Strikeforce lightweight contender Lyle “Fancy Pants” Beerbohm kept his unbeaten record intact, as he submitted Josh Calvo with a second-round guillotine choke in the Rumble on the Ridge 14 headliner on Saturday at Snoqualmie Casino in Snoqualmie, Wash. The end came 20 seconds into round two.

Clad in his trademark multi-colored shorts, Beerbohm worked some ground-and-pound and defended an attempted armbar before securing the victory. The 30-year-old Spokane, Wash., native remains perfect in 14 professional appearances, with wins over four-time Brazilian jiu-jitsu world champion Vitor "Shaolin" Ribeiro and UFC veterans Duane Ludwig and Rafaello Oliveira.

Other winners at Rumble on the Ridge 14 included 2010 Bellator Fighting Championships heavyweight tournament quarter-finalist Mike Hayes (second-round submission against Matt Walker) and Strikeforce veteran Matt Kovacs (second-round technical knockout over Josh Bennett).

“The Ultimate Fighter” Season 7 quarter-finalist Cale Yarbrough submitted Clint Hester with a North-South choke in the Wild Bill’s Fight Night 31 main event on Friday at Wild Bill’s Atlanta in Duluth, Ga. Hester waved the white flag 1:18 into the third round.

Yarbrough, who trains out of the Hardcore Gym in Athens, Ga., has won eight of his last nine fights since his professional debut ended in a first-round technical knockout loss to Tim Credeur at UFC Fight Night 14 in July 2008. He traded blows with Hester throughout the first two rounds, softening him with knees to the body and legs from the clinch in the first and wobbling him with an elbow in the second. In round three, Yabrough stuffed a takedown and moved into position for the fight-ending choke.

Meanwhile, once-beaten featherweight prospect Freddy Assuncao -- the brother of UFC castaway Junior Assuncao and World Extreme Cagefighting veteran Raphael Assuncao -- posted his second consecutive victory, as he earned a unanimous decision against Maajid Al-Kush.

The American Kickboxing Academy’s Joseph Ambrose stopped Masakazu Taguchi on first-round punches at Trench Warz 13 “Vengeance” on Friday at Royal Taga Hall in West Beach, Saipan, Northern Mariana Islands. Taguchi, a Shooto veteran, met his demise 61 seconds into round one. Eliminated in the qualifying round for “The Ultimate Fighter” Season 12, Ambrose has finished five consecutive foes, four of them inside the first period. The 23-year-old has delivered 11 wins in his last 12 fights … Ultimate Warrior challenge veteran Felipe Arantes knocked out Cemir Jose da Silva with a head kick 20 seconds into the first round at a Barueri Combat show on Saturday at the Jose Correa Gymnasium in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Arantes, 22, has pieced together a six-fight winning streak … Unbeaten Japanese bantamweight Hideo Morikawa submitted Aden Zarco with an opening-round armbar under the Universal Reality Combat Championship banner on Friday at the Renaissance Makati City Hotel in Makati, Philippines. The 27-year-old Morikawa has finished all four of his opponents … Brylan Vanartsdalen coaxed a tapout from Julio Rosario with a second-round rear-naked choke in the Matrix Fights 3 main event on Friday at the Philadelphia Sheet Metal Union Workers Hall in Philadelphia. Rosario submitted 2:22 into round two … Eliminated “The Ultimate Fighter” Season 12 hopeful Daniel Head stopped York Ash on first-round strikes in the Legends of Fighting 42 “Smashing Pumpkins” headliner on Friday at the 8 Seconds Saloon in Indianapolis. Head, who was ousted from “The Ultimate Fighter” by Jeff Lentz, finished it 3:51 into the first period.
