We asked UFC 205 fans to predict McGregor vs. Alvarez – and then immediately regretted it

NEW YORK – Fight fans have packed New York for Saturday’s big UFC 205 event, and they’ve made their presence known. Loudly.

UFC 205 takes place at Madison Square Garden, and the main card airs on pay-per-view following prelims on FS1 and UFC Fight Pass.

In the main event, featherweight champion Conor McGregor looks to become the first fighter in UFC history to simultaneously hold two belts when he challenges for Eddie Alvarez’s (28-4 MMA, 3-1 UFC) lightweight title.

We asked fight fans to give us their predictions – and they did so emphatically, nearly destroying our microphone and eardrums. McGregor is clearly the crowd favorite, and even Philadelphia fight fans were picking McGregor, who’s currently a small underdog at the sports books.
