Video: What do Chad Mendes, Ricardo Lamas think of Conor McGregor's antics?

FAIRFAX, Va. – By now, it’s a foregone conclusion that Chad Mendes and Ricardo Lamas have grown tired of answering questions about Conor McGregor.

But today, they had to answer a few more, even as they get ready to face each other in Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 63 main event.

Mendes (16-2 MMA, 7-2 UFC) and Lamas (15-3 MMA, 6-1 UFC) are recent UFC featherweight title challengers – each lost to champion Jose Aldo. So a win for either of them on Saturday, coupled with a McGregor win over Aldo at UFC 179 in July, could put one of them right back in a title fight, presuming longtime champ Aldo doesn’t get an immediate rematch.

UFC Fight Night 63 takes place Saturday at Patriot Center in Fairfax, Va. The main card airs on FOX Sports 1 at a special time of 1 p.m. ET following prelims on the same channel at 11 a.m. ET.

Earlier this week, McGregor and Aldo wrapped up a whirlwind world tour promoting UFC 179, which takes place July 11 at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, with a final stop in McGregor’s home city of Dublin.

And there, McGregor made his most brash public move to date – stealing Aldo’s championship belt from the table on stage and holding it aloft for the Irish fans to see. Naturally, UFC President Dana White had to hold Aldo and McGregor back from each other, and additional personnel took the belt from McGregor to return it to Aldo’s table.

Both Mendes and Lamas think that stunt, of all the brash moves McGregor has made, was over the line.

Mendes called McGregor “crazy” and said he expected something like that to happen. Lamas, who has had some social media run-ins with the Irishman, said the move was “bad for the sport.”

Check out Mendes and Lamas’ comments from today’s open workout session in Fairfax.
