HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – After a signature career win in Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 70 main event, Yoel Romero’s cage-top celebration was cut short.
In the FOX Sports 1-televised headliner at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Fla., Romero (10-1 MMA, 6-0 UFC) stopped former champ Lyoto Machida (22-7 MMA, 14-7 UFC) with a hellacious flurry of third-round elbows.
After the fight (watch the Romero vs. Machida video highlights), which marked the middleweight’s biggest victory to date, Romero headed to the top of the cage’s fencing. But a representative from the Florida State Boxing Commission quickly cut short the celebration, as we captured in the above video.
However, the festivities eventually resumed backstage.
