Tarec Saffiedine makes his long-awaited debut in the UFC on Saturday, and he’ll do so at the top of the card.

Saffiedine (14-3 MMA, 0-0 UFC) meets Hyun Gyu Lim (12-3-1 MMA, 2-0 UFC) in the main event of UFC Fight Night 34, which takes place at Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre in Singapore and streams on the UFC’s new Fight Pass digital network.

Saffiedine last competed almost a year ago when he upset Nate Marquardt to win the final Strikeforce welterweight title. But his UFC debut has been delayed by injuries. Now he’s healthy and raring to go against Lim, a South Korean who is roughly a 2-to-1 underdog.

In his second fight under the Strikeforce banner more than three and a half years ago, Saffiedine picked up the only knockout win of his career, which should at least give Lim a little something to think about.
