After a loss to Alistair Overeem in his final Strikeforce fight, Fabricio Werdum needed a good performance in his return to the UFC back in 2012. Mission accomplished.
Back at UFC 143, Werdum took on tough and durable heavyweight vet Roy Nelson, and their bout took home “Fight of the Night” honors. It was a performance that kicked off Werdum’s current five-fight winning streak that recently resulted in an interim belt.
Check out the full fight above.
And catch Werdum (19-5-1 MMA, 7-2 UFC) in action on Saturday, when he meets reigning champion Cain Velasquez (13-1 MMA, 11-1 UFC) in a title-unification bout in UFC 188’s pay-per-view headliner at Mexico City Arena in Mexico.
