In three days Daniel Cormier makes his long-awaited light-heavyweight debut in UFC 170's co-headliner. Ten months ago, he made his highly anticipated UFC debut as a heavyweight.

Check out that April 2013 bout, where Cormier took on former champion Frank Mir in UFC on FOX 7's co-headliner.

The fight was a stiff test for the Olympian and undefeated fighter, who emerged as the unlikely winner of the Strikeforce world heavyweight grand prix. However, Cormier proved his impressive Strikeforce run – which included victories over vets such as Antonio Silva and Josh Barnett – was no fluke.

Check out the subsequent fight with Mir in the video above.

And catch Cormier (13-0 MMA, 2-0 UFC) in action on Saturday at Las Vegas’ Mandalay Bay Events Center. “DC” takes on Patrick Cummins (4-0 MMA, 0-0 UFC), a late replacement for injured Rashad Evans, in the pay-per-view co-headliner.

New Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) light heavyweight No. 1 contender Daniel Cormier (because of this) talks about his last sparring session with longtime training partner and UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez (1:20 mark), which threw him for a loop because Velasquez was trying to emulate Jon Jones -- complete with side kick to the knee. "Bones" shared a video of his recent mishap on Instagram. I'm sure Jones will be disappointed if Cormier doesn't target the wound (based on this existing logic), which will su read news >>
