Video: Watch 'Live Like Legends' UFC 205 promo, which makes NYC the star alongside title fighters

The next president of the United States is going to come from New York, one way or another, and we’ll know how it all goes down the second week of November.

But that’s not the only big thing happening there that week. At week’s end, no matter who the president-elect is, the UFC is making its long-awaited return to the state, and putting on a show in the famed Madison Square Garden for the first time.

Needless to say, the UFC is promoting the show in a major way, and well it should. The event, which takes place Nov. 12 at MSG with a main card on pay-per-view following prelims on FS1 and UFC Fight Pass, is a rare six-fight main card – and has three title fights.

If you look at some of the names who will be fighting on the prelims, it’s slightly mind boggling: Rashad Evans vs. Tim Kennedy … Frankie Edgar vs. Jeremy Stephens … Michael Johnson vs. Khabib Nurmagomedov … Thiago Alves vs. Jim Miller … and that’s just the start of it.

Ahead of UFC 205, the promotion on Saturday released a slick new commercial preview. And despite the major stars at the top of the bill featured prominiently in the spot, the UFC made sure to make the city of New York and the famed “Garden” just as much the stars.

In the video above, check out the preview for UFC 205, which will see lightweight champ Eddie Alvarez put his title up against featherweight champion Conor McGregor, who is looking to make history; welterweight champ Tyron Woodley taking on challenger Stephen Thompson; and women’s strawweight champ Joanna Jedrzejczyk meeting Karolina Kowalkiewicz.

Those six all star in the spot – alongside the city of New York and Madison Square Garden, accompanied by a haunting soundtrack: “Live Like Legends,” by Nashville-based Ruelle, featuring lead singer Maggie Eckford.
