Video: UFC champ Jon Jones talks Glover Teixeira and Alexander Gustafsson

One-half of a highly anticipated UFC rematch could come to fruition on Saturday if Alexander Gustafsson beats Jimi Manuwa.

A Gustafsson win at UFC Fight Night 37 in London puts him in line for another shot at the light heavyweight title held by Jon Jones, who narrowly beat him this past September. And some even would argue that Gustafsson won the fight, to begin with.

If Gustafsson wins, and Jones beats Glover Teixeira next month at UFC 172, the rematch will be on.

Jones knows that before he can get back in there with Gustaffson, he’s got someone to get past, as well, in Teixeira.

“I understand that Glover has a great opportunity ahead of him, and I’m sure he’s going to try to seize the moment,” Jones said. “I just have to train my butt off, respect him and go out there and compete at the highest level. He’s a well-rounded athlete and knows what he’s doing in all aspects of the game.”

Jones said he learned a lesson against Gustafsson: “Just to give each opponent your full attention.”

That’s what he says he’s doing for Teixeira. To hear what else the 205-pound champion had to say about his opponent, his past fight with Gustafsson and the potential to meet him again, check out the video above.

Then don’t miss Jones (19-1 MMA, 13-1 UFC) on April 26 when he meets Teixeira (22-2 MMA, 5-0 UFC) in the UFC 172 pay-per-view headliner.
