Video: UFC 170 headliner Sara McMann on pregnancy, family planning, title shot

Sara McMann and her significant other quickly realized you can’t joke about some things, especially when you’re a top UFC contender.

Most notably? Pregnancy.

“My significant other keeps posting everywhere, ‘Well, can’t do that because it’s baby-making time’ and stuff,” the UFC 170 headliner said with a laugh. “So everybody is just assuming that (I’m pregnant). I’m like, are you serious? I’m just having fun.”

While McMann (8-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC) is next up for UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey (8-0 MMA, 2-0 UFC) at UFC 170, her life after the Feb. 22 pay-per-view event remains a bit of an unknown. The mother of one said she wants to have another child, but she knows it’d require at least a year off from competition.

“I’m 33,” the Olympic wrestling medalist said. “Taking a year off could be my last year, you know? … The time I really say I want to have another kid, that desire is going to win out over MMA.”
