Video: Muahahaha! Relive Ben Rothwell's evil post-UFC Fight Night 68 laugh

For a guy who seems like a remarkably swell fella in real life, Ben Rothwell sure has an evil laugh when needed in the cage.

The big galoot looked downright terrifying with a slick and quick submission victory over fellow heavyweight Matt Mitrione (9-4 MMA, 9-4 UFC) in Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 68 headliner, and after the first-round win, Rothwell (35-9 MMA, 5-3 UFC) unleashed his maniacal laugh for the fans at New Orleans’ Smoothie King Center and the others at home watching on FOX Sports 1.

For Rothwell, who tapped out Mitrione via front choke in less than two minutes, it marked his third consecutive victory (watch the Rothwell vs. Mitrione video highlights). The 33-year-old said it’s a turning point in his career.

“Let me tell you what that is: That’s actions that speak louder than words,” Rothwell told commentator Jon Anik after the event. “And mixed martial artist as you once knew me, I am no more. I am something completely different.”

Although perhaps a bit awkward at times, the interview was largely new territory for the usually low-key Rothwell, who mixed in the evil laugh midway through. Prior to the event, he told MMAjunkie he rarely does the hype game:

But following UFC Fight Night 68, he said he’s going to claim the heavyweight title in the future, and he proposed a rematch and opponent that could get him there: the equally resurgent Andrei Arlovski (24-10 MMA, 13-4 UFC).
