Video: Jon Jones mourns his signature shoes, loss of Nike sponsorship

Jon Jones dropped a bit of a bombshell at today’s Nevada State Athletic Commission hearing: His role in an infamous August brawl with Daniel Cormier has cost him a “six-figure” sponsorship with Nike.

Soon after the Las Vegas hearing, the UFC light heavyweight champion posted the above Instagram video, set to the tune of Vitamin’s “Graduation (Friends for Forever)” as he clings to a pair of his signature Nike shoes before collapsing into his bed.

At least “Bones” appears to have a sense of humor about the whole thing.

For his role in the Aug. 4 brawl, which was part of a media day to promote the upcoming Jones (20-1 MMA, 14-1 UFC) vs. Cormier (15-0 MMA, 4-0 UFC) title fight (which recently moved from UFC 178 to UFC 182 on Jan 3), the champ was issued a $50,000 fine and 40 hours of community service.
