Fallon Fox has certainly blazed a new trail in the world of MMA, but her actual fighting ability has earned mixed reviews.
Fox (3-0), a transgender fighter who underwent gender reassignment surgery in 2006 and faced licensing issues when the information became public earlier this year, earned a submission victory over Allanna Jones (2-2) on Friday.
The bout co-headlined CFA 11 at BankUnited Center in Corral Gables, Fla. AXS TV provided a live broadcast of the event and now has released the full video of the fight.
As part of CFA’s 145-pound women’s tournament, Fox advanced with her second win in the tourney. Check out the fight above, which included some early submission escapes from Jones but an eventual tap-out late in the fight as both competitors began to fade.
As broadcasters Pat Miletich and Michael Schiavello pointed out, there also was some questionable sportsmanship on Fox’s part (though in fairness, Jones did walk to the cage with Aerosmith’s “Dude Looks Like a Lady” playing).
