Rua (22-10 MMA, 6-8 UFC) and Nogueira (21-6 MMA, 4-3 UFC) are two of the most prominent light heavyweights in the sport’s history – and Rua won the first meeting as part of the 2005 PRIDE middleweight grand prix – but they’re both struggled ahead of their pay-per-view co-main event, which takes place at Rio de Janeiro’s HSBC Arena.

Rua is 1-4 over his past five fights, and Nogueira is 2-3 over five injury-plagued years.
