In a special pre-event show dubbed “Chandler vs. Alvarez: Unfinished Business,” Bellator looks back at one of the best fights not only in Bellator history, but MMA history.
Lightweight champion Michael Chandler (12-0 MMA, 9-0 BMMA) and ex-titleholder Eddie Alvarez (24-3 MMA, 9-1 BMMA) headline Saturday’s Bellator 106 event on Spike TV. The fighters first met in November 2011, and Chandler pulled off the upset in a back-and-forth affair that proved an instant classic. (Watch the full Chandler vs. Alvarez I fight.)
How does Bellator view the fight?
“Chandler-Alvarez I, I don’t consider it the best fight in Bellator,” company chairman and CEO Bjorn Rebney said. “I consider the mixed martial arts fight I’ve ever seen.”
Rebney, Chandler, Alvarez, the night’s ref, fellow fighters, trainers and others all discuss the bout on “Unfinished Business,” which can be watched in its entirety above.
