Video: Cat Zingano outlines stem cell treatments, favors Ronda Rousey win

It’s been a bittersweet year for Cat Zingano (8-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC), who made her UFC debut with a win over Miesha Tate but then had a knee injury take away her chance to coach on “The Ultimate Fighter” and then compete for a UFC title.

But the fighter known as “Alpha” isn’t feeling sorry for herself on the way back to the octagon. Instead, she’s undergoing regenerative stem cell therapy and aggressive rehabilitation procedures to avoid a more invasive approach.

Zingano, of course, will be watching this weekend’s UFC 168 clash between UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey and challenger Miesha Tate with a keen interest, as she could still potentially face the winner. And if Zingano is being honest, she has to admit she’d prefer Rousey to come out on top.

“I already beat Miesha, so I’m not chasing her,” Zingano said. “I know what she has, and I felt what she’s worth. I’m ready to move on to bigger and better, and right now, that’s Ronda.

“Should Miesha win, I’m looking forward to that fight, as well. We kind of have some unfinished business that I would like to kind of retrace on that, but right now I’m looking forward to fighting Ronda.”
